YIMBY: Yes in My Back Yard. No, not the fake YIMBY activist movement that should be called YIYBY because they’re talking about your back yard. They don’t actually live there. This is part of an ongoing collection of articles exploring some of the YIMBY reasons why affordable housing can be built in your neighbourhood back yard.

Let’s face it. YIMBY stories are scarce on the ground. So scarce that a first reaction on encountering one is: “They said what? That’s unbelievable!”

Well, here’s a story that can hardly be classed as unbelievable, though you might feel that way after hours scanning past articles with NIMBYites grizzling about a new multi-story housing project ‘ruining essential neighbourhood character’ or similar objection.
