Human rights groups have a plan to make all levels of government accountable to house Canadians.

Canada’s national government issued a National Housing Strategy in 2017. The strategy is founded on a commitment to housing as a human right and Canada’s obligations as a signatory to United Nations declaration to that effect.

Now, Canadian human rights organizations are calling on the government to carry that commitment into action. See CBC News: Federal legislation needed to declare housing a ‘right,’ says coalition

The proposal would make all three levels of government accountable via a structure that is guided by people with experience. For more information see: Implementing the Human Right to Housing in Canada’s National Housing Strategy
