How many homeless people spend cold nights on the streets of your community? How many have no shelter to go to? How many sleep rough because they cannot cope with bullying or other pressures that keep them away from shelters?

How many homeless people die on the streets of your community every year?

All these questions may be difficult to answer, even if you care enough to ask them. Toronto recently introduced a program to determine just how many homeless die on the streets of the city every year. The answer is distressing.
