Sandwiches isĀ one of 10 YouTube videos produced by a partnership between Cardboard Citizens and Big Issue. It features the kind of human dignity celebrated by Shakespeare’s heroic actors. The video packages the drama as indignation, and is no less effective because of that.

The scriptwriter of Sandwiches drew on her experiences of homelessness as a youth. Her play presents what an older woman who is panhandling both yearns for and abhors in her day to day survival on the streets.
